RACHEL'S EXPERIENCES

  • Over a decade of experience in genetic research and lab leadership at the University of Washington and Institute for Systems Biology 

  • Led teams in large-scale DNA sequencing projects and trained early-career scientists 

  • Strong background in mentoring, training, and guiding early-career researchers 

  • Experienced K–12 tutor with a personalized, inquiry-based approach 

  • Skilled in supporting students with ADHD, dyslexia, and focus challenges

WHY RACHEL TEACHES

Rachel began teaching after years in scientific research, where she found joy in mentoring and making complex ideas accessible. As a parent who homeschooled children with learning differences, she brings patience, empathy, and a belief that every student can succeed with the right approach. 

FUN FACT ABOUT RACHEL
Rachel and her daughter love coming up with hilariously odd names for their pets—a quirky family tradition that always brings laughs.
