Inventor+STEM Summer Camp

grade 5+

$1190

July 12-23, 9:30-3:30

Join us for an exciting multi-disciplinary STEAM camp where students will design an original board game while learning important math and logic concepts. One half of the camp will focus on creativity and board game design, while the other half will teach them science, math and logic concepts to strengthen their game design principles.

At the end of camp students will also fill out a national level invention competition application, organized by the National Museum of Education. You can check out our previous student winners here.

This camp is organized with our partner MindAntix that develops programs to make students creative and better problem solvers..

Pre-Algebra

grade 5+

$635

9:30am - noon

August 2 - 13

This camp is meant to prepare students for 7th/8th grade math or ALGEBRA 1 class by providing basic building blocks essential for developing confidence in successfully learning high school mathematics.

Rather than the traditional approach of having students mimic routines, the main focus will emphasize genuine learning of the concepts and the beauty of logic.

Using a style of integrated mathematics, the following topics will be covered:

- evolution of number sets

- arithmetic with integers, fractions and decimals

- factors and multiples

- ratio, proportion and percent

- exponents

- order of operations

- solving equations with one variable

- solving inequalities with one variable

FUNDAMENTALS for ALGEBRA 1

grade 6+

$635

9:30am - noon

August 16 - 27

This camp is meant to prepare students for ALGEBRA 1 class by providing the main building blocks essential for developing confidence in successfully learning high school mathematics.

Rather than the traditional approach of having students mimic routines, the main focus will emphasize genuine learning of the concepts and the beauty of logic.

Using a style of integrated mathematics special attention will be dedicated to the following topics:

- evolution of number sets

- polynomials-operations and factoring

- introduction to functions

- linear functions and equations

- intro to exponential function

- intro to quadratic function

FUNDAMENTALS

for GEOMETRY

grade 7+

$635

1:00 - 3:30pm

dates: August 16 - 27

This week-long camp is designed to prepare students for a year-long journey in GEOMETRY class at their regular school. This will be a hands-on class with an extensive use of compasses, straightedges, and protractors. We will cover:

- Language of geometry, postulates and theorems, writing proofs.

- Parallel and perpendicular lines, angles and their relations.

- Triangles, congruency and similarity.

- Special lines in triangles; inscribed and circumscribed circles.

- Properties of quadrilaterals.

- Areas of regular polygons.

Each day includes entertaining video materials and challenging constructions, that would take the students beyond the typical setting of numbers and equations.

FUNDAMENTALS for ALGEBRA 2

grade 8+

$635

9:30 - noon

dates: August 9 - 20

This 2 week-long camp is meant to prepare students for ALGEBRA 2 class by reviewing algebra concepts essential for success in ALGEBRA 2 and introduce some new materials from the upcoming year.

Main topics include:

- evolution of number sets

- irrational numbers

- complex numbers

- linear and absolute value equation and inequalities

- quadratic, rational and exponential equations

- transformations of linear, absolute value, quadratics and exponential functions

Rather than the traditional approach of having students mimic routines, the main focus will emphasize genuine learning of the concepts and the beauty of logic.

FUNDAMENTALS for PRECALCULUS

grade 9+

$635

3:30 - 6:00pm

dates: August 9 - 20

This camp is designed to prepare students for PRECALCULUS or MATH ANALYSIS class from September. The main focus will be on exploring all important concepts for graphing functions by exploring significant points and limits. Students in this camp will benefit from getting a solid foundation in the following concepts:

- transformations of functions

- inverse functions graphs

- complex numbers

- factoring polynomials

- linear, quadratic and polynomial functions graphs

- rational functions graphs

- exponential function graphs

- Logarithms

- trigonometry

- introduction to limits

We will have limited number of seats in order to comply with safety standards and the high quality online experience - max 6 students/teacher.
