About the instructor
A decade ago, Kasey Hill began her career as an educator
at A.V.I.D (Advancement via Individual Determination) in Edmonds, WA, which
provides underprivileged children with an opportunity to learn outside the
classroom. She was asked to create a financial literacy curriculum for her A.V.I.D.
students. It was very successful. When her son was born, Kasey put her
full-time teaching career on hold and created Growing Wealth From the Start.
“I wanted to use the out-of-the-box teaching styles I had learned at
A.V.I.D. and integrate hands on financial literacy activities into my lessons.”
Kasey has a Masters in Education as well as her WA state teaching certificate
and a Masters Certificate in Business. She believes that being financially
responsible is essential for a successful future. She tells her students that
“their number one asset is themselves.”
