school of mathematics and programming

grade 3 - 5
July 17 - 21
9am - 3:30pm
ONLY 3 seats
Join us for a week of highly engaging hands-on activities that encourage creativity, critical thinking and problem solving!
Every day we will introduce a new STEM concept to spark students interest for math, science and engineering. Building electric circuits, tracing lines of the magnetic field, constructing fractals, and creating models of molecules only start the list of the fun activities!
grade 5 - 8

July 10 - 14
9am - 3:30pm
ONLY 2 seats

Join us to invent and build a cool, interesting gadget this summer.
We'll not just start you on the journey to being an inventor - we'll take you all the way!
In this camp, children will experience STEM and Creative designs to make their own invention. At the end of the camp, students will submit their idea for a national level Invention competition and take home their cool prototype for bragging rights! Three of our 2016 camp students won the award at our camp last year, and we would love to see more this time. Offered in collaboration with MindAntix.

Students will have a lunch break and games everyday outdoors weather permitting. Please send lunch, snacks and water bottle with your student.

Optional before and after care available please ask if interested.

grade 6+
August 14 - 25
9:30am - noon
ONLY 2 seats

This camp is meant to prepare students for ALGEBRA by providing all building blocks essential for developing confidence in successfully learning mathematics.

Rather than the traditional approach of having students mimic routines, the main focus will emphasize genuine learning of the concepts and the beauty of logic.

Using a style of integrated mathematics special attention will be dedicated to: evolution of number sets, ways of representing numbers, relationships among numbers, meanings of operations and how they relate to one another, use of variables, polynomials and equations while looking for patterns.

grade 8+
 August 14 - 25
9:30am - noon
ONLY 2 seats

This camp is designed to prepare students for the PHYSICS class as well to refresh ALGEBRA 1.

The main focus will be on introducing the mathematical framework of scientific ideas. In no way will this lead to “plugging in numbers to get the answer”.

Physicists use equations to find relationships between concepts. Formalizing the physical theories using concise language of math makes them less ambiguous and allows physicists to discover new connections and associations.

grade 7+

August 14 - 18
1:00 - 3:30pm
1 seat available

This camp is meant to prepare students for a year-long journey in GEOMETRY class from September.
The main focus will be on constructions of geometric shapes and significant points. Students will also strengthen their vocabulary and understanding of shapes in both 2D and 3D space.

This will be a hands-on class with an extensive use of compasses, straightedges, and protractors.

grade 9+
  August 7 - 18
1:00 - 3:30pm
This camp is designed to prepare students for MATH ANALYSIS or PRE-CALCULUS class from September. The main focus will be on exploring all importans concepts for graphing qudratic, exponential, logarithmic, rational, and trigonometrics functions by exploring significant points and limits.

Students with enthusiasm about learning will benefit the most from these camps.
