STEAM SPARK 1

grade 3+
$449
June 25 - 29
9:00am - 3:30pm

Join us for a week of highly engaging hands-on activities that encourage creativity, critical thinking and problem solving combined with explorations of mathematical concepts applied in art.
S - science, T - technology, E - engineering, A- art and M - math
Every day we will introduce a new STEAM concept to spark students interest for math, science and engineering. Building electric circuits, tracing lines of the magnetic field, constructing fractals, and creating models of molecules only start the list of the fun activities!
INVENTOR
+ 3D PRINTING

grade 5+
$449

June 25 - 29
9:00am - 3:30pm
or
July 9 - 13
9:00am - 3:30pm

Join us to invent and build a cool, interesting gadget this summer.

This summer we will experiment with Smart Materials and Wearables, with a different theme each week, and campers will build their own clever gadget they invented.

They will learn how to use popular SketchUp 3D modeling app, how to make models that can be printed, and then print them out of melted plastic.

At the end of the camp, eligible students will submit their idea for a national level Invention competition, and take home their cool prototype for bragging rights!

We don't just start you on the journey to being an inventor - we take you all the way!

Three of our camp students won the award at our camps, and we would love to see more this time.

Offered in collaboration with MindAntix.

PYTHON
grade 7+
$309

July 16 - 20
9:30am - noon
or
July 23 - 27
9:30am - noon

Join us for Python for middle and high school students!
Python is becoming the language of choice for first time programmers due to the relatively simple syntax compared to other high level programming languages.

This class brings parametrized methods, dynamically typed local variables, libraries, and most importantly – objects. Yes, the list sounds very technical, but it is transparent to students – they learn all that by coding fun projects and reviewing some mathematical concepts from Algebra and Geometry.

STEAM SPARK 2

GRAND MASTER CHESS

grade 4+
$449

July 16 - 20
9:00am - 3:30pm
Join us for STEAM and CHESS!
Every day we will introduce a new STEAM concept to spark students interest for math, science and engineering. Building electric circuits, tracing lines of the magnetic field, constructing fractals, and creating models of molecules only start the list of the fun activities!

In Chess part of the day students will lear the ancient game, art, sport, war model that is perfectly designed to train your 'brain muscles'. Students will learn about chess openings, famous games, puzzles, tricks and tips while playing tournament game with clock, game notation, and game analysis.

Offered in collaboration with Chess Sport and FIDE Grand Master Emil Anka
FUN WITH MATH

grade 4+
$449
July 23 - 27
9:00am - 3:30pm

Join us to explore the beauty of mathematics. In this camp we will play math games, "discover" math tricks and work on developing problem-solving skill.

Students will get an opportunity to develop their investigative, creative, and critical thinking skills by exploring mathematical topics and brainteasers in an inspiring and competitive team setting.

After experiencing this camp mathematics will become something to enjoy discovering and playing with.

GAME DESIGN WITH UNITY

grade 6+
$309

July 30 - Aug 3
1:00 - 3:30pm

Join us to to learn how to create a maze game using Unity (a professional game development tool) with C# from SCRATCH.  You will learn fundamentals to make fun games.  We will be using barebone Unity and avoid using complex models to have a solid understanding of game design with Unity before making it look nice and realistic.

Offered in collaboration with STEAM for Teens

DIGITAL 3D ART with BLENDER & UNITY

grade 6+
$309

August 6 - 10
9:30 - noon
Join us to learn how to create a character and make it into a 3D model and animate it using Blender.  You will also learn how to make it move using Unity.  This course is designed for those of you who are absolute beginners to Blender/Unity and interested in creating 3D animations.
Offered in collaboration with STEAM for Teens.
MATH in ART

July 30 - Aug 3
9:00am - 3:30pm

Join us for MATH in ART and CHESS camp!

Every day we will introduce a new mathematical art concept to spark students interest for math while enjoying art. Building origami cubes, polyherdras, Menger sponge, exploring Sierpinski triangle are only some of the fun activities!

Students will have a lunch break and games everyday outdoors weather permitting. Please send lunch, snacks and water bottle with your student.

Optional before and after care available please ask if interested.

Fundamentals for PHYSICS

grade 8+
$309

July 30 - Aug 3
1:00 - 3:30pm

This one week long camp is designed to prepare students for the PHYSICS class.

The main focus will be on introducing the mathematical framework of scientific ideas. In no way will this lead to “plugging in numbers to get the answer”.

Physicists use equations to find relationships between concepts. Formalizing the physical theories using concise language of math makes them less ambiguous and allows physicists to discover new connections and associations.

FUNDAMENTALS for ALGEBRA 1

grade 6+
$499
August 20 - 31
9:30am - noon
This camp is meant to prepare students for ALGEBRA 1 class by providing all building blocks essential for developing confidence in successfully learning mathematics.

Rather than the traditional approach of having students mimic routines, the main focus will emphasize genuine learning of the concepts and the beauty of logic.

Using a style of integrated mathematics special attention will be dedicated to: evolution of number sets, ways of representing numbers, relationships among numbers, meanings of operations and how they relate to one another, use of variables, polynomials and equations while looking for patterns.

FUNDAMENTALS for GEOMETRY

grade 7+
$309

 August 6 - 10
or
August 13 - 17
1:00 - 3:30pm
This one week long camp is meant to prepare students for a year-long journey in GEOMETRY class from September.
The main focus will be on constructions of geometric shapes and significant points. Students will also strengthen their vocabulary and understanding of shapes in both 2D and 3D space.

This will be a hands-on class with an extensive use of compasses, straightedges, and protractors.

FUNDAMENTALS for ALGEBRA 2

grade 8+
$499
  August 6 - 17
9:30 - noon
This camp is meant to prepare students for ALGEBRA 2 class by reviewing main algebra concepts essential for successfully continuing learning algebra 2 material.

Rather than the traditional approach of having students mimic routines, the main focus will emphasize genuine learning of the concepts and the beauty of logic.

Using a style of integrated mathematics special attention will be dedicated to: solving linear, absolute value, exponental and qudratic equations and inequalities, transformations of functions, introduction to logarithams and linear algebra.

FUNDAMENTALS for MATH ANALYSIS
